District Forester, Shane Duigan, will lead us on a tree identification tour through the Rines Forest in Cumberland, Maine. This magnificent 216 acre forest is part of a 900 acre contiguous block of forest habitat and an emerging conservation corridor. The property has interesting, rolling terrain interspersed with cascading streams, providing diverse habitat for a wide variety of plant and animal life. All ages are welcome. We will have some fun activities for kids. Snacks will be provided.
The trailhead is located on Range Road across from Idlewood Drive in Cumberland. Please park along Idlewood Drive and walk over to the trail entrance.
The event is co-sponsored by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension's Maine Tree Club, the Cumberland Town Lands and Conservation Commission and the Chebeague & Cumberland Land Trust. Free and Open to the Public
