Join us at Rines Forest to explore this diverse forest in its winter splendor.
December 19th, 2018 | 1:30pm - 3:00pm
Curriculum: Trees in Winter
Volunteer Leader: Travis Sparks
Location: Rines Forest, Range Road, Cumberland, ME
Directions: There is a trailhead and small parking area on the shoulder of Range Road about 1.2 miles northwest of the intersection with Winn Road.
Rines Forest is a magnificent 216-acre woodland in the heart of Cumberland. The town of Cumberland purchased the property in 2003 from the Rines family, and in 2005 crafted a conservation easement with CCLT to ensure that the forest would remain a natural area managed for wildlife habitat and public enjoyment forever. This beautiful and tranquil setting provides visitors with cascading waterfalls, well-maintained trails, and places of solitude.

Get Out! Nature Walks
These Get Out! Nature Walks are led by trained master naturalists and skilled volunteers. They occur on the fourth Wednesday of the month (unless indicated otherwise), rain, snow, or shine. Jointly offered by both CCLT and the Royal River Conservation Trust, the walks take place at preserves in the towns of Chebeague Island, Cumberland, Yarmouth, North Yarmouth, Pownal, New Gloucester, Durham, and anywhere else we decide to roam. Check out the RRCT Facebook or CCLT Facebook page or Email Us for specifics and updates.
