Join us at a new property protected by a CCLT conservation easement in 2022, the Read Family Farm & Woods. This property contains a variety of essential habitats including a field used actively for local agriculture; a large block of intact, upland forest; and a variety of wetland types including streams and forested wetlands. Property owner, Mark Read, will lead the group along the public trail leading to Rines Forest.

What to wear: Waterproof shoes/boots and long pants. We will be walking thought the tall grass!

Location: The Read Family Farm & Woods is located on Blanchard Road in Cumberland approximately half a mile from the main intersection in Cumberland Center.

Parking is limited. We will meet at the meadow just to the west of the house at 42 Blanchard Road. There is a farm road pull out made of crushed asphalt where you can park in the front of the meadow, but the field will be wet and soft so if you don't have 4WD you are better off pulling off of Blanchard Road. There is space for several cars on both sides of the road a little further down Blanchard. You can also park at the church and walk down.
