Position Title:  Membership & Outreach Associate

Position Type:  20 hours weekly

 

About Chebeague & Cumberland Land Trust

The Chebeague & Cumberland Land Trust is a nationally accredited land trust with a mission to permanently conserve and steward natural resources across our island and mainland communities for the benefit of current and future generations. Since our founding in 1987, we have completed 34 conservation projects, protecting over 1,120 acres of valuable open space and habitat, working landscapes, and recreational areas in our two communities.

 

Position Summary

The Membership & Outreach Associate will work to support CCLT’s membership, expand engagement with our members and those in our communities, and help keep our office running smoothly. This position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of tasks independently and work collaboratively with a small staff and other partners. The Membership & Outreach Associate must be well-organized, attentive to details, able to communicate clearly and consistently, and excel at developing positive working relationships with members, volunteers, and other local stakeholders. Some remote work is possible. Work in the field at properties or events is occasionally necessary. In addition, there are twice monthly evening meetings that require note taking support.

 

The Membership & Outreach Associate position entails:

·       Part-time, flexible work hours of 20 hours/week

·       Work with the CCLT Executive Director, Stewardship Coordinator, and an engaged Board of Directors

·       Some remote work possible

·       Hourly rate ~$18-20/hour – Depending on experience.

Duties include:

·       Processing donation checks and generating thank you letters for donors

·       Managing CCLT’s membership database (Little Green Light) and generating reports

·       Preparing several mailed membership appeals per year

·       Planning fun, engaging events for the community

·       Developing and managing social media content

·       Preparing electronic newsletters, press releases and other marketing materials

·       Editing and maintaining the CCLT website

·       Participating in and serving as staff for the Membership & Outreach Committee

·       Fielding incoming office calls and emails

·       Maintaining a photo database our use in outreach materials

·       Attending and take minutes at the monthly board meeting

·       Brainstorming new outreach ideas with staff and volunteers

·       Administrative duties related to a growing organization which include maintaining electronic and paper records, updating organizational policies and board manual, helping schedule meetings, paying some office bills, maintain office supplies

 

This position might be for you if you:

·       Have excellent organizational skills

·       Are comfortable using—or can quickly learn to use—digital platforms such as: Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram, donor software Little Green Light, Google Suite, Adobe Cloud and our website

·       Enjoy communications work and event planning

·       Like to work as part of a collaborate team, but can also complete tasks independently

·       Are detail-oriented and take pride in error-free work

·       Like to learn new things and think of how to make work processes more effective and efficient

·       Would enjoy working in a casual work environment

·       Like the idea of organizing and participating in outdoor events

Our Board of Directors consists of residents from both towns who provide guidance for the organization.
